Privacy & data handling

Last updated August 2026

The short version

Reachy stores your resume, career preferences, the jobs you track, the contacts it finds for you, and the emails it drafts. Your data is scoped to your account at the database level — no other user of Reachy can read it. Emails are sent from your own Gmail account, through Google's API, with your explicit consent.

What we collect

  • Account: name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile photo.
  • Resume & profile: the resume file you upload, plus career type, target roles, locations, salary range, university, previous employers, hometown, and languages you choose to enter.
  • Job & outreach activity: jobs saved or applied to, cover letters generated, contacts surfaced, drafted and sent messages, and reply status.
  • Gmail access: permission to send mail as you and to read the threads of messages Reachy sent, so replies can be detected. Reachy does not read your wider inbox.

Where the data goes

  • Lovable Cloud (database & file storage): your resume and all account data are stored here with per-user access rules.
  • Google Gemini (AI): resume text, job descriptions, and contact details are sent to generate matches, cover letters, and outreach drafts.
  • Apollo.io: queried for professional contact records (names, titles, work emails) at companies you are applying to.
  • Apify (LinkedIn data): used to collect public job postings and public profile details such as education history.
  • Google Gmail API: used only to send your approved messages and check for replies.

Reachy does not sell your data or use it to train models.

People we contact on your behalf

Contacts surfaced by Reachy are working professionals whose business contact details come from Apollo and public LinkedIn pages. Every email Reachy sends includes a one-click opt-out link and honours a plain-English "no thanks" reply. Once someone opts out, they are added to a global do-not-contact list and no Reachy user will be able to email them again — including on a future application to the same company. Recipients can also write to the address below to be removed or to ask what data is held about them.

Retention & deletion

Your data stays until you delete it. Removing your resume from the Resume page deletes the stored file; asking us to delete your account removes your profile, jobs, contacts, and outreach history. Opt-out records are the one exception — they are kept indefinitely, because forgetting them would mean contacting someone who asked us not to.
